Shout-out to all our guest photographers for the amazing images that pour in every month. We’re continually impressed with the innovative new ways you capture and share Tofino.

Which is why this shot from Steve Lafleur made us stop and go “wow.” We’re not sure what sort of wet vantage point was involved, but from the texture of the sand dollar contrasting with the evening sky, to the refection and slow-mo effect of the changing tide, this image is as unique as it is quintessential Cox Bay.

Happily Ever After

For the second time since joining our team last summer as Evening Guest Services Supervisor, Markus McRurie has been voted Five Star Employee of the Month for his “happy, friendly manner and exemplary service.”

Originally from BC’s small but celebrated Saltspring Island, Markus is loving larger Vancouver Island living, especially the surf scene. Travel is also a passion, as is the lovely Sammy, who he recently asked to be his wife. She said yes – we say yay!

All-around congratulations Markus!
